Telegram Channel Boosts: How They Work, Levels and Prices

Boosts decide how many stories a Telegram channel can post and which appearance options it can use. This guide covers who can give a boost, what each level adds on channels and groups, and how to get boosts for free or by ordering them. Telegram's own documentation is the source for every level and perk listed here.

Short answer: A Telegram channel boost is a slot a Premium user assigns to your channel. Boosts raise the channel's level, and each level adds stories per day, custom reactions and appearance options. A subscriber who pays for their own Premium gets 4 boosts. The number needed per level depends on your subscriber count.

What is a Telegram channel boost?

Premium features belong to individual users, not to channels. Boosts are how a channel gets some of them: Premium users give boosts to a channel or group, and it moves up a level as the count grows.

Telegram added boosts in 2023 so that channels could post stories. Telegram's Premium FAQ now describes them as covering stories, custom reactions, name and cover colors, emoji status and backgrounds.

Who can boost a channel, and how many boosts do they get?

Only Telegram Premium users have boosts to give. The number depends on how they got Premium:

  • Paid for their own Premium: 4 boosts, which can go to several channels or all to one
  • Received Premium as a gift: 1 boost
  • Gave Premium as a gift: 3 more boosts for each gift
  • Won Premium in a giveaway: 4 boosts, which go to the host channel automatically

If you don't have Premium yet, the free ways to get Telegram Premium include gifts and giveaways. Note that Telegram Premium members on a channel are a separate thing: a Premium subscriber adds no level until they actually assign a boost.

How long does a boost last?

Telegram does not publish a single duration, so be careful with any fixed number you read elsewhere. This is what its official pages do say:

  • Boosts from users: they "stay on the channel unless users decide to move them elsewhere"
  • Each boost has an expiry date: Telegram's API records one for every boost, but the documentation gives no standard length
  • Moving a boost: after assigning one, the user has to wait out a cooldown before moving that slot to another channel. The length is not published
  • Boosts from giveaways: they can't be reassigned and stay with the channel for the duration of the subscriptions given away

How many boosts does each Telegram channel level need?

There is no fixed table. Telegram's FAQ says every channel needs a different number of boosts, based on its total subscriber count, and the same applies to groups and their member count. Telegram also lowered the requirements for channels in a later update, so tables published online can be out of date or simply not match your channel.

The only number that counts is the one Telegram shows you:

  • Channels: Channel Profile > Channel Settings > Statistics and Boosts > Boosts
  • Groups: Group Profile > ⋮ or ⋯ > Boost Group

That screen shows your level and your boost link. Check it before you ask anyone for boosts or place an order. Telegram's developer documentation lists 100 as the maximum channel level.

What does each level give a channel?

From level 1 to level 10, each level adds 1 story per day and 1 custom reaction, so level 5 means 5 stories per day and 5 custom reactions. All levels include 7 channel name colors. Telegram's FAQ lists these additions:

  • Level 1: 7 styles for links and quotes
  • Level 2: 14 styles for links and quotes
  • Level 3: 21 styles for links and quotes
  • Level 4: custom logos for links and quotes
  • Level 5: 8 colors for the channel cover
  • Level 6: 16 colors for the channel cover
  • Level 7: custom logos for the channel cover
  • Level 8: 1000+ emoji statuses
  • Level 9: 8 channel backgrounds
  • Level 10: custom channel backgrounds

Two more thresholds appear only in Telegram's developer documentation, which currently lists level 3 for automatic translation of posts and level 50 for turning off ads on the channel. Telegram sets these values itself and can change them, so confirm them on your Boost screen before relying on either.

What does each level give a group?

Group boosts work the same way, but the perks differ. If you're unsure which format you run, see how Telegram groups and channels differ. Each level adds 1 story per day, and Telegram's FAQ lists these additions:

  • Level 2: 8 colors for the group cover
  • Level 3: 16 colors for the group cover
  • Level 4: group emoji pack
  • Level 5: custom logo for the group cover
  • Level 6: unlimited voice-to-text conversion
  • Level 8: 1000+ emoji statuses
  • Level 9: 8 group backgrounds
  • Level 10: custom group background

Admins can also let members who apply a set number of boosts, from 1 to 8, ignore slow mode and other restrictions. Messages from boosters show a badge.

How can you get boosts for free?

Ask your own Premium subscribers. It costs nothing, and those boosts come from people who already read you. Copy your link from the Boost screen. It looks like one of these:

  • Public channel: t.me/yourchannel?boost or t.me/boost/yourchannel
  • Private channel: t.me/c/ID?boost or t.me/boost?c=ID

Post it with a concrete reason, such as "at the next level we can post more stories per day". The limit is your audience: only Premium subscribers can respond, so a small channel may not reach the level it wants this way.

Telegram offers two other routes. Neither is free, because you pay for the Premium subscriptions:

  • Run a giveaway: the channel receives all 4 boosts for each subscription given away
  • Gift Premium to friends or contacts: you receive 3 boosts per gift and can assign them to your channel yourself

How much do Telegram boost services cost?

If asking isn't enough, the Telegram boost order page and the full services list show what's available. These are the live prices as of November 2026. Every service has a minimum order of 1 and a maximum of 30,000:

  • Service 26, active for 1 day: $25.00 per 1,000 ($0.025 per boost)
  • Service 338, active for 7 days: $65.00 per 1,000 ($0.065 per boost)
  • Service 339, active for 15 days: $115.00 per 1,000 ($0.115 per boost)
  • Service 340, active for 30 days: $170.00 per 1,000 ($0.17 per boost)

Longer services cost less per day. Here is 100 boosts held for at least 30 days, a quantity chosen for easy math and not a level requirement:

  • 1-day service, 30 orders: $75.00
  • 7-day service, 5 orders: $32.50
  • 15-day service, 2 orders: $23.00
  • 30-day service, 1 order: $17.00

A smaller order works the same way: 10 boosts for 7 days costs $0.65. To estimate your own cost, take the number of missing boosts from your Boost screen and multiply it by the per-boost price.

Which service fits?

  • Testing one perk or one campaign: 1 day
  • A launch week: 7 days
  • Keeping a level you use every day: 30 days, since it costs the least per day

Rates can change without notice, so check the services list for the final price before ordering.

Which link do you paste when ordering?

Paste your channel link, such as t.me/yourchannel. You don't need to share account access, and the order form shows the total before you submit. Create an account and add funds first. The steps are on the order page.

Two things to check first:

  • Groups: the description of service 26 lists its type as channels, and the 7, 15 and 30-day services have no published description. Telegram does support group boosts, but ask support before ordering for a group.
  • Private channels: no boost service here states that it accepts private links, so ask support first in this case too.

If you also run a bot or want post reactions, our guide to boosts, bot starts and reactions covers all three.

What are the limits of buying boosts?

  • They end: an ordered boost lasts for the service's active period. When it ends, your boost count falls.
  • Your level can fall with them: levels depend on boosts, so if the count drops below your current level's requirement, expect the level and the perks tied to it to go too. Telegram doesn't document what happens to settings you have already applied.
  • Requirements move: your subscriber count affects how many boosts you need, and Telegram has changed the requirements before, so a number that was enough once may not stay enough.
  • They add features, not readers: Telegram documents boosts as a way to get features. It doesn't list search position or subscriber growth among the perks, so treat any effect on either as unconfirmed. Stories only help if people want to watch them.
  • Boosts can drop early: treat this as a risk on any order. Service 26's description states a 1-day guarantee and the other three publish none, so ask support about refills before ordering.
  • Risk stays with the buyer: these boosts don't come from your audience, Telegram controls its own rules, and bought engagement doesn't replace content worth following.
  • Delivery time is an estimate: the Terms of Service say delivery time isn't guaranteed and that an order still processing won't be refunded because it feels slow.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many boosts does a Telegram channel need to level up?

There is no fixed number. Telegram's FAQ says the requirement differs by channel and is based on total subscriber count. To see yours, open Channel Profile > Channel Settings > Statistics and Boosts > Boosts.

Who can boost a Telegram channel?

Only Telegram Premium users have boosts to give. Someone who pays for their own subscription gets 4, someone who received Premium as a gift gets 1, and each Premium gift sent gives the sender 3 more.

Can you boost a Telegram group?

Yes. Telegram groups have their own levels and perks, including a group emoji pack at level 4 and unlimited voice-to-text at level 6. Members can boost from the group's profile or through its boost link. Requirements depend on the number of members.

How much does a Telegram boost cost?

Asking your Premium subscribers costs nothing. On this panel, as of November 2026, services run from $25.00 per 1,000 for 1 active day to $170.00 per 1,000 for 30 active days, with a minimum order of 1 and a maximum of 30,000.

What happens when boosts expire?

The channel's boost count falls. If it drops below what your level requires, expect the level and its perks to fall as well. Check the Boost screen to see where the channel stands, and plan renewals if you depend on a perk.

What is the difference between a boost and a Premium member?

A Premium member is a subscriber whose account has Telegram Premium. A boost is something a Premium user chooses to assign to a channel or group. Having Premium subscribers does not raise your level until boosts are assigned.
